16230 Benson           Discovered 2000 Mar. 9 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro.
Named in honor of Carol Benson for mentoring a finalist in the 2002 Intel Science Talent Search, a science competition for high school seniors. Benson is a teacher at the University High School, Normal, Illinois.
