13964 La Billardière           Discovered 1991 Aug. 3 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
French naturalist Jacques-Julien Houtou de La Billardière (1755-1834) joined Admiral d´Entrecasteaux on the Recherche in 1791, in order to find the long-lost La Pérouse, who perished with his ships in 1788, after leaving Botany Bay. An account of this voyage is given in Relation du voyage á la recherche de La Pérouse (1799).
