12186 Mitukurigen           Discovered 1977 Mar. 12 by H. Kosai and K. Hurukawa at the Kiso Station of the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory.
Born in Mimasaka, Mitukuri Genpo (1799-1863) was a physician of Western medicine in the late Edo period. In Edo he was appointed an interpreter in the Tokugawa shogunate's Office of Astronomy.
