10984 Gispen           Discovered 1977 Oct. 16 by C. J. van Houten and I. van Houten-Groeneveld on Palomar Schmidt plates taken by T. Gehrels.
Willem Hendrik Gispen (b. 1943) is a well-known Dutch scientist in the field of neurosciences, and from 2001 to 2007 he was rector of Utrecht University. He contributed to establishing the Sonnenborgh museum and observatory as a place for communication and education in astronomy and meteorology.
